Hood popper

Has anyone done something different with their hood popper on their truck? I've gone through 3 in the last year I don't have to pull hard or anything crazy but the wire keeps breaking right at the handle. They were all junk yard pieces but do anyone else have the same problem?

I've never had that. Is it rubbing on a price of metal maybe

It breaks off right at the handle inside the plastic mount
