I am looking to get a nice light bar and some work lights (amber rotating ones) for my truck to install on a Backrack. I want something that is pretty damn bright and can be used for off-roading and work. I really like Rigid Industries stuff but they're so expensive! Any recommendations that might be cheaper? Safety lights are pretty straightforward but recommendations for good ones are also appreciated!
Depends on what you are looking for, I got some 18W LED flood lights off ebay for my backup lights and they were $25/pr. They are waterproof, fairly compact and really bright! I also replaced my factory bulbs with the Retro-solutions LED's in my cargo light and they really light up the bed.

I do really like the idea of having some lights below my rear bumper, and will probably do that when I buy a new aftermarket one. Even just to have when reversing if helpful. Ideally, I want something that can mount to the top/center bar of the rack and be able to be flipped facing forward and backward, although if it has to be permanent I would want it facing forward for driving.
If you wanted them forward for driving these also come in a spot beam. I thought they were cheap enough to try and I am pretty impressed so far! I even have access to buying Rigid's at cost through work and they are still too rich for my blood!

I've been looking for something low profile like that to use as extra reverse lights like that I think those may fit the bill nicely, all the tint on my back windows makes it tough to see backing up at night. How long have you had them and how are they holding up. Did they include mounting brackets hard to tell in the sellers pics or did you have to rig some up.

I have only had them for a couple months and they still look like brand new. They put off an impressive amount of light and are nice and crisp white, compliment my retro solutions 9W reverse bulbs perfectly. They are nice and compact and rated waterproof (actually submersible I think) and for $25 I figured I could replace them about 5 times or more for the cost of Rigids! I have already recommended them to a buddy and they are going to put them on their fleet trucks. they came with a U-bracket that has a bolt in top allowing for l/r u/d adjustment, I had a right angle bracket from a previous set of lights that came out from the top of the hitch bar with a slot, so i bolted up to that and they hand up there nice and tight. Plus 2 year warranty (whatever that is worth haha) Hope the pic helps

The Garage is only like 10 feet away but still they are bright lol
Nice! I can get some shots of mine against a wall also if you need. They are available in flood and spot pattern. I got the flood style for my reverse lights, because I didn't need the distance. I figured for $25 they were worth a gamble and I am extremely happy with them!
I have run led light bars for about 3 years... that being said there are some limitations you may or may not be aware of...
1. Narrow beam angles will greatly improve your distance viewing, with the higher power bars there is no need for wide angle as the "wash" will still provide ample light.
2. They are absolutely worthless in fog or snow, blowing snow will blind you with even a small percentage of reflected light.
I have a new 40" 120 watt single row light bar that I am going to install this next time I am home and as with my previous ones when not in use you will want to cover and protect the front as dirt and dust or snow and ice will greatly reduce your output.
There are many light bars to choose from and I will be the first to say buy American but the value just isn't there to justify 1500$ vs. the 250$ I paid... there are also different led bulbs, I strongly recommend Cree led's vs. say epistar or some other, If you would like more info feel free to pm me and I can see if I can round up some info that will help you make a more informed decision.
That being said the largest led bar I have seen was a desert racing 400 watt bar that put out an absurd amount of light +30000 lumens at this brightness level you would need very dark sunglasses to avoid blindness from any road sign reflection. Did I mention the low amp draw? The 120 watt bar I have pulls 6.5 amp @ 12 vdc and puts down 7000 lumens...
