Seat height question

I am putting a bench seat out of another car in My '59,and I need to know the height of the seat mounting, (see pic below that shows what I'm talking about). Right now,the height of the mounting bracket, from the bottom of the seat track to floor is 3 inches. As it sits now, I have to raise My leg up to press the brake, and clutch pedals. How high were the factory seat brackets?

I slipped a brick under each corner, and it brought it to where I can use the top of My foot, to depress the pedals,so that may be as good as i can get

just measured mine and it is 3 1/2" from bot. of track to floor. I am 6' and seems to be perfect for me.

I would think that now is the time for you to fab anything up so it fits you perfectly

Yeah, with the bricks under the corners now, it measures just at 3 1/4, so another 1/4 inch and I should be ok, at 5 '6" I wil have to get it close as possible

I stacked 5 flat washers under each corner, and it brought the mouting pads to 3 1/2 inches, here is how the seat sits now:

Hope you don't have to hit the brakes fast! LOL! Nice looking seat by the way.

Well, if I make it sit any higher, the seat back wil be blocking the view from the rear window, making backing up unsafe.

That seat is out of a '79 Olds btw

Back in 1975 when I build my truck I used a 70-72? Cadillac black leather six way power bench seat, it was only $50 at the wrecking yard. I used 3" aluminum channel bolted to the floor then the seat bolted on top of it. I also had to add a piece of channel across the back between the two for lateral left/right support.

I got this seat for free, out of a car a buddy was stripping for a demo derby car. I'll add an inch to where it is at now, and go with that
