Yes, with some work. Your '79 likely came with a 351m, 300-6, or a 302w which uses different engine towers and mounts, as well as a different bellhousing bolt pattern. If you want to put a 391 (FE series engine) into your '79, you will have some work ahead of you. We need more information on your current setup before we can give you a better answer.
