Well long story short after multiple flushes with VC9 then round of Restore and Restore Plus and many gallons of distilled water I went to fill system with matco vacuum filling tool and never got it to work. It was a late night so I filled the system with distilled water and ELC. Drove few times but it never seemed correct. Figured it out the Degas Tank had hole in top under cowl. Replaced it now I have leak in radiator and hoses. Replacing radiator tomorrow. Two questions:
Since I never got any junk from the flushing. I suspect since no real pressure on system how should I proceed. I know I have to replace cooler b/c get delta of 35. Reverse back flush through oil cooler never worked b/c keep blowing water hose out. Should I start flush all over?
I have leak somewhere around front of motor. I thought it was from hoses going to water pump but after I got stuff out of the way. Its like it coming from intake somewhere and running down. I'm pretty sure heads were done before I bought because I can tell someone has been in it, and I see fresh exhaust gaskets and the heads look like really new metal. Unfortunately no studs. So does the coolant run through or near intake on front of motor. This is my first diesel needs some assistance. I want be sure where the leak is till I get the hoses off the water pump and see better. Not sure if it matters but there is a Sinister EGR delete.
