harmonic balancer removal question

harmonic balancer removal question
I am installing a melling lpop and can't get the nut to budge on the balancer. in the instructions It says to put in low gear and have at it. I did that and the truck just went backwards under me so I blocked the wheel cause my e-brake wasn't holding enough. It says turn counter clockwise, what am I missing it just continues to turn under the compression of the motor. Its a stick

I believe the easiest way to remove the bolt is to use a long breaker bar and brace it against the frame or ground. Unplug the CPS while you're under there getting it all situated.
Then bump the starter with the key and the bolt should come right out or be loose. Unplugging the CPS will make sure the truck doesn't accidentally start.
