88 f150 boosted prerunner
Hi guys!
I'm new to this forum and have a lot of learning to do on my truck.
I have a 88 f150 4 speed 4x4 5.0 efi that was passed down to me from my dad.
My plan for the truck is to build a prerunner style truck with long travel suspension, and also to boost it (probably turbo). I also want to keep 4x4 which is the main thing I have questions about. What options do I have for transmission swaps? As I don't feel my current tranny is the best option. What is the best engine/tranny option for handling boost and one that will bolt up to my transfer case? I don't have a preference between manual or auto for this build, just whatever holds the power better. It'd be a lot easier if I went 2wd, then I could swap in any engine I want but I really wanna keep 4wd.
