Very low Turbo boost and loss of power

So I have a 2008 6.4 with dpf delete and edge tuner.
Last night I was driving in a big rain storm and my engine light came on, throwing two codes, P0528 and P0401. I cleared both codes and engine light goes out, then 5 mins later I had a power loss and barely any turbo psi.
I get up this morning and head to work, everything is normal and lots of power and boost.
Could something have gotten wet in that heavy rain storm, then maybe dried out??

Anything is possible I guess. Turbos have been known to suck oil off of oiled air filters so water could be a problem depending on the severity.

P0528 - Fan Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal <table border="1" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"> <tbody><tr> <td style="BORDER-BOTTOM:NONE" align="left" valign="top">Description: </td> <td style="BORDER-BOTTOM:NONE" colspan="4" align="left" valign="top">The purpose of this diagnostic test is to compare the fan speed signal to the minimum and maximum calibrated values. If the fan speed is less than the minimum or greater than the maximum calibrated value, the DTC is set.</td> </tr> <tr> <td style="BORDER-TOP:NONE" align="left" valign="top">Possible Causes: </td> <td style="BORDER-TOP:NONE" colspan="4" align="left" valign="top">
  • Damaged FSS sensor
  • Damaged PCM
  • Obstruction stopping fan from moving
</td></tr></tbody></table>

Things to check for would also be possible restrictions pre and post turbos.

Is your EGR still functioning or does the Edge tuner turn it off?

P0401 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Flow Insufficient Detected <table border="1" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"> <tbody><tr> <td style="BORDER-BOTTOM:NONE" align="left" valign="top">Description: </td> <td style="BORDER-BOTTOM:NONE" colspan="4" align="left" valign="top">Estimated EGR percent is less than the minimum limit for the operating conditions.</td> </tr> <tr> <td style="BORDER-TOP:NONE" align="left" valign="top">Possible Causes: </td> <td style="BORDER-TOP:NONE" colspan="4" align="left" valign="top">
  • Aftermarket intake systems or exhaust systems
  • Restricted air flow (intake or exhaust)
  • Restricted EGR cooler
  • EGR valve position sensor bias
  • Exhaust pressure (EP) sensor bias
  • Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor bias
  • EGR valve
</td></tr></tbody></table>

DPF is one thing and EGR is another.

I cant quit understand why your getting an EGR PID if your egr is disabled via the tuner. May want to talk to Edge about that.

So, I did a scan on my truck today, said my EGR is restricted. Aperntly that would also cause a dead fuel pedal while EGR is sticking.
Apperantly my Edge Tuner does not delete the EGR..
So, it's $400 for a new one and an hour labour.

Or whatever it costs to disable the EGR with a new tune...

That would be nice to delete the EGR, but I don't think Edge will help me at all, due to the fact there recalling all race tuners. Does anyone know how to delete the EGR with the Edge Race Tuner??
