I have a 1964 f100 with what I assume is a Spicer 60.2 rear diff. It has a rear cover that has 10 bolts and has a drain plug on the bottom of the hogs head. 60 is cast into the housing. It has 4:10 gearing and limited slip. I would like to change the gearing to 3:54's or something near that ratio. Anyone have any ideas where I could get a ring and pinion for what I feel is a not to common rear end for this truck? ND would you happen to be able to help me out part number wise?

Spicer 60.2 with Limited Slip: Optional 1963/66 F100. 4.10-1 ratio available 1963/66, 3.54-1 ratio available 1965/66.
My local CL advertised a drum-to-drum 60-2 with 3.54 for $200 last week. It sold pretty fast it seems, or I would include a link. This indicates some are still around at reasonable prices.

The above is an F250 w/a Dana 60. It is NOT the same rear axle as the F100's Dana 60.2.
And there's another: 1966/69 F100's were available with the optional Dana 60.3. It's not the same as the F250's Dana 60 or 1963/66 F100's Dana 60.2.
I'm not sure what the difference is with Dana 60 / 60.2 / 60.3 when it comes to a ring and pinion swap, can you explain ND? Dana 60 is the full float (mine) and 60.2 / 60.3 are semi float axles. I found a pic of a later model 60.2 from a Jeep and it has the 60.2 clearly designated on housing as shown, it has 35 spline axles...Will this make a difference with ring and pinions or just spider gears?
Dana 60.2 From a Jeep Pickup truck this one has 35 spline axles...
Well...now that I've inspected everything including axle shafts and spider gears, my swap to 3:73 is looking more like upgrading to later model 35 spline axles, spider gears, and what the heck may as well go with a posi unit. All can be had for about $1,000.00...in parts...Then of course the front axle will need to change ratios to match the rear and the snowball continues to get bigger!! LOL
