Is this a good way to build a van turbo for stage 1 injectors
Van turbo rebuilt with Riff Raff billet wheel, barder turbo 360 thrust bearing rebuild kit and beans exhaust flange adapter. 0 miles on rebuild with new billet wheel.
Will it lag a lot on stock injectors.
It will lag on stock injectors with stock tuning. If you have tunes, it will be fine. Instead of the Riffraff billet wheel, get a ported housing with the Riffraff billet wheel for ported housings. Thats the best option.

It will lag like mad with stock injectors.....I had a bunch of lag with 160/30's. Bob @ Dieselsite thought my 1.15 ar housing couple with the D66 WW2 wheel was too much. I'd agree, I switched to a 1.0 ar with the D66 and like it.

Really?
I only have about 150K miles of experience with a van turbo. Along the way, I've run 4 different compressor wheels and a couple of different injectors. Not to mention the hundreds of 1/4 mile passes and a couple dozen dyno pulls.
A van turbo won't lag a bit with stock injectors with proper tuning. Heck, with Jody's plain jane 80E, my truck ran great.
Its a shame Bob told you that. I'm not a big fan of his stuff but his WW2 in a van turbo is a great combo. Shame he's not selling that point.

Glad that you had a better experience than I. btw, Bob told me he prefers the van turbo with the stock WW2 over the D66....Really.
