I know this isnt a chevy forum but i don't know one to post on so here it is. Ive been working on my sisters 77 impala, its a 305 automatic with a 2 barrel carb. Its been sitting for 3 to 4 years and was having trouble starting, i got it home and am out of school so i have time and thought that i would clean up the carburetor and adjust the idle because it stalls when you let off the gas. I took it off and took it apart but not completely, and soaked it in some carb cleaner, blew it out with air then put it back on. I checked the plugs and they were fouled so i got new plugs and wires and it started much easier than it did before, but now it seems to be flooding, i leaned the mixture but that didn't seem to make any difference, it runs runs for a little bit but stalls and is flooding. I don't know much about carburetors and any help is appreciated.

You might get lucky here, but you might also try hotrodders.com or clubhotrod.com. Lots of chebby folks around there, and carbs are still a daily topic.

Your fuel float level needs adjusted, not a big deal........the float may also leak and sink, needing replacement.
If you buy a re-build kit it will explain in detail.
