the sound was not too loud. A small bang/thumping sound. What I saw in the side mirror though was some chunks coming off and the gas line flying around.
As one of my dealers says, he spends more time looking in his mirrors than looking ahead when towing due to the blow-outs. Sorry it happened.
You repairs should be minimal in terms of expense, but any damage is always a "B". There is a new tape out that is supposed to work wonders when piecing in belly wrap as historically nothing worked to well on it. I don't have the name of it as I don't have it on my truck yet.
You know a lot of this could be prevented or at least minimized if they would put in some inner fender skits
Absolutely right, but that would not help sell more RVs except to a narrow band of buyers i.e. those who do not buy based on price alone. An inner skirt would increase selling price a bit and now adays all folks seem to see is the bottom line.
We were looking at a Cougar (I think???? there were several other brands too) today and it had Freestar tires. I looked them up - Nanking Tire company - China. My list of needs for a new(er) trailer is growing and along with frame manufacturers(no Lippert) and axle types(no Nevr-Lube), includes tires (must be LTs)
I realize that RV manufacturers try to put as cheap a tire on their products as possible to help their bottm line. False economizing as the tire will get a bad rap, but so will the RV company for cutting corners on safety. Even GY Marathons were decent until they were sourced from China. Now - junk (and as far as I'm concerned so are most of the rest of GY tires)

Very hard to find any frame manufacturer that Lippert does not own. They buy so many companies it is hard to keep up.
