found it! serial number decoding?
I am ecstatic I found the number! *71gc378519* now can anyone point me in a direction to decode it? From the van pelt site there is only a "71ga" no "71gc" you guys werent kidding it was definatly there. Hard to believe I thought I was looking at plain flat rusty frame but some elbow grease and she started to come to light!!

The "A" was for passenger cars, the "C" is for commercial. I don't remember if the series number is included with the cars or if it was commercials only. The "G" part of your number means your truck originally came with the flathead G series six cylinder.
