Well today I went to Putnam to fill out the W4 forms, I am officially hired by M&M Transport. While I was filling out the forms I found that my medical card had expired, whoops! Have to get that fixed before my first day but, I gave West Hill two weeks so that'll give me a little time.

Justin that sounds like a promotion, congratulation on the new job.
Yesterday had to drive my wife to Portland, Maine to represent Travelers in a case.
So I walked around the city and kept feeding a meter every 15 minutes. When they broke for lunch we ate in a little shop where the in the court building. When I got back to my Jeep there was a $15 ticket for expired meter. The cop told me that there was 2 hour meters across the street. So I moved and no more tickets.
We traveled at 70mph to 85mph all the way up and back. First I was amazed that I was being passed like I was standing still and that going through 5 speed traps not a single taker. Yet there were many people "feeding the bears" Leaves me to wonder what speed are the cops set at before they grab someone.
While I was there my son installed the 2 vent covers in the cab that were broken. now that was a good thing. Now just waiting for the bull bar to arrive.
ouch lol. its about 90 here which i didnt find out until 3pm because we are in a room with no windows all day lol
started the classroom part to study for our CDL permit today, going to the DMV friday for the permit and then in a week or so we start training in the trucks
Theyre sending us for class A with air brakes but ill have the automatic restriction since all their trucks are auto...but at least the DMV guy comes right to my works driving place so thats cool

That's nice that the company is taking care of it. Do you actually get a restriction to auto? I tested for my b and then my a with10 speeds, but all of the town trucks are auto. The guys that tested on those trucks didn't get restricted. I thought that only happened if you had a medical issue with your left (clutch) foot. But they could have gotten a pass since its for the town
Im not 100% sure but the teachers mentioned it...i thought if you tested in an auto you were restricted to that. I dont really plan to go anywhere else and learn to drive standards though lol so its not a huge deal right now. Our teachers are great too, really cool
I am making sure i pay very close attention, you only get 2 tries to pass the road test or you get kicked out of the entire program im in. So far it seems pretty easy...the only thing im worried about is that ill be in an international bucket truck with a little tiny trailer lol, i know how that goes with my snowmobile trailer but im sure after a few days of being in a truck all day ill figure it out. And thats what the teachers said too...theyve been CDL instructors for like 25 years and he said he teaches every guy exactly the same so when the DMV guy comes, he knows we know what were doing, just may mess something up if were nervous
Miles that sound like your getting in the swing of things, and having a good time as well. By the way, a room with no windows and about 90 degrees is called a cell. lol
Don't worry about the road test Miles, it should be a piece of cake in an automatic truck. When I went through driving school the biggest concern for everyone was shifting the truck. Make sure you practice the pretrip portion quite a bit though, some folks get nervous and make stupid mistakes.
I don't think people at most reputable driving schools fail often. I know nobody in my class or the class before me failed, and we lost one guy after a week because he just wasn't getting it. I like to think people who just aren't up to it get screened out early on. Of course my school was in Wisconsin, so things may be different over here.
