modding an aod transmission pan.

May have to take off the pan of my aod again due to tv issues after replacing the trans. Has only first and reverse right now. Could I add a magnet in the bottom and or a drain plug without effecting it's operation?

I see no issues with adding a magnet or magnetic drain plug.

What is the full story here? Did you do an engine swap perhaps or was this a stock truck before the trans work?

Sounds like a Direct Clutch, stuck governor, valve or TV issue......the magnetic drain plug is a plus but won't catch everything as some worn items are not magnetic

I'm gonna throw it out there that the tv is too much. It won't shift out of 1st because it thinks you got the pedal mashed to the floor all the time.
Need conanski's question answered also.
