yep.. add another $1500 to that... when i had it in 3 weeks ago it woulda been $3200 they paid $1500 and change.. when i took it in for the lack of power due to the turbo not working... they wanted $480 just for the part (not including labor) that actually costs $189... for what they wanted to change the part that didnt solve the problem im rebuilding the entire thing...
yeup... pay $500 sum bucks for them to replace wrong part.. or pay 100 bucks more to completely rebuild it myself.. i choose rebuild it myself option...
Dealers love their markup. I bet most make more in service and repairs than in the sell of the vehicles themselves.
A properly run dealership should be paying all their bills with profit from the parts and service departments. The profit from car sales should make their margins.
Auto repair is really a horrible business. Margins more than about 8% are miraculous.
Doing ok Devin. Was at a funeral yesterday for a friends brother. His brother was a Baltimore police officer so there was a big presence from the city even though he passed away unexpectedly at home. Even the Police Commissioner came and said a few words yesterday.
sure as hell hope so... between the repairs 3 weeks ago and this ive spent $2600
This woulda been cheaper
