Leaf Spring Questions

Would the rear leaf springs from the old body style (1997) fit on the 2003? Both single rear wheel, both have the 6 ply design. I measured them as best I could with a tape and they appear to be same length, and same axle placement. Anyone know for sure why or why not they would or would not fit?

The older body style springs are slightly different. The older springs are 25 x 31-3/8" with a 5/8" bolt in the front and 9/16" bolt in the rear.

The 2003 springs are approximately 25" x 33-1/4" long with a 18mm bolt in the front and 16mm (you could use a 5/8" bolt)

The older springs had a pretty good variety of different size arches so you could end up using a rear spring that would make you sit lower in the rear than what you had to start with.

I had an OBS that I did a reverse shackle on the front and upgraded to superduty springs front and rear. the ride with superduty springs was enough that my wife stopped complaining about how it rode..

Putting OBS springs on a superduty would be going backwards in ride quality in my opinion.

I don't fully understand the numbers you used there. What is the 25x31¼ and 25x31⅜? Length?

Sorry about that. Those are the lengths of the springs. If you would measure from the center of the front spring eye to the center bolt and the center bolt to the center of the rear spring eye you would come up with those numbers.
