Newby with a question. Working on a 2000 F-250 SD, with a V-10. I have decided on either the Hedman, or Thorley headers. Was wondering about the Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust Systems, #17313 for the cat back system. anyone using this? I am not looking for something to loud, just freeing up the exhaust system after the header install.
Would appreciate any input, thoughts, better systems, etc. This is my first gasser, all others have been diesel, and I am noticing this V-10 seems rather restricted, and could be opened up more. I am using it as a daily driver, and tow vehicle for my 5th wheel.
Thanks!
For an inexpensive system it should work pretty well. I too am deciding between Hedman and Thorley. My wallet says hedman, my gut says Thorley. Mainly because of the thicker tube and no ball sockets to worry about. On my 05, I just replaced the stock muffler with a Dynomax Super Turbo 17792. That is the same muffler in their cat back kit #19410. I am not really a fan of the dual, out the rear systems. Would rather have dual out the pass side or single pass side. Dynomax sells replacement pipes for their kits so I was going to buy the same 17792 muffler and the cat back replacement tail pipe #55226 and make my own for around $200. I did like that muffler on my 05.
Thanks for the input V10man. As far as the Hedman headers go, I read the post started by ak_angler, (i believe it was him), and after getting the Hedman "bulletproof" redesigned headers, he has had no problem. Might look into that post as far as your decision goes.

I will say they were cheaper than anywhere else. I just now got a shipping notification, It shows a delivery of 6-12. So if you need em quick look elsewhere, If you've got time then go for it.
The tailpipe on my first Flowmaster catback rusted through right behind the muffler. I now have on the stainless version of the same catback system but I did not modify the muffler like in the thread. I left the muffler alone, it sounds a little better with the muffler as is.
If you don't like the V6 pontiac grand am sound I would go with the Flowmaster system.
