I have a set of 351 w heads I've been trying to id with the casting # . they come up as 302 heads.they have 351 stamped on them. The casting # is D1OE-BA the heads came off a 69 cougar I'm restoring.
Thank you that helps they do have the 1.80 intake and 158 ex and clearly marked 351.was wondering if there's anything special about these heads or just run of the mill stock heads
These heads were put on 289s and 302s back in the day to get the bigger valves. However, you got a bigger combustion chamber and lower compression in the bargain. I think they did make a bit more power as the bigger valves gained you more than you lost in compression.
These days, better heads are available off 5.0 Exploders.
Carefully consider your total cost to make them work vs aftermarket heads or later 5.0 heads. You probably do not have hardened seats in those either.
I forgot to mention these heads came off a 351w 4 barrel.all the parts have correct numbers for the vehicle and year block, intake and exhaust manifold except the heads which don't seem to have much information as other heads of this era have.

. I've looking into that in hoping that work has already been done since it looks like the heads have been replaced at this point. I'll hopefully know by this weekend when I tear them down .thank you for your help
