I want to thank all the Vets out there . I was drafted in 70 , but failed the physical twice At the time , I thought great . Years later , I started to feel guilty , that I didn't do my part . Now I am sad that I will never be apart of your great brotherhood . Again thank you for what you went through , For me .

Amen to that! I graduated from HS in 73... they pulled our birthdates but the war was essentially over and no one born in 55 was drafted.

The same thing happened to me, I failed the physical because I had my leg in a cast up to the top of my thigh and down to my toes after breaking it in three places wrestling in high school. Many of my friends went and a few paid the ultimate price. Much later I realized that I really wanted to be a part of something so important that people were willing to die for it. So, thanks to all who did serve!
When I see the Actors, singers, sports figures etc. referred to as role models I have to laugh or cry. There was no draft for my generation. I think we could have benefitted from one. Maybe get BULLIED a little by a stout drill instructor? Thanks to all who have served our country even though it sometimes appears the country has turned it's back to you.
