Put 120 miles on her. All the while flushing the brown water out of coolin system. Took about 10 times to get clear. Need 2 steel wheels,Gonna go junyarding for the 84. Just plain steel. 5 lug,15's. What year truck can donate? Any cars to BOLO for? She seems to be a good one. Love the room the regular cab has for my 6'6" frame. Seems to get good milage. OD kicks in at about 53,little higher than i am used to,but good enough. Love it
Since you said it's an 84, and F150, Wheels should be 5x5.5" pattern. As such, Ford pickups from around the mid 50's to 96 used this same bolt pattern, however, older wheels may not fit over the front brakes.
Any wheel from 73 to 96 should clear the brakes just fine, as they all had disc brakes.
Just watch out for 80-83 F100, as many of those had a 5x4.5" bolt pattern.
Thanks for the tip on avoiding the certain f100s. The front wheels are fine. And the back are good, just alittle wide. Popped the hub caps off and noticed the back wheels were different. Was trying figure out why the 235's looked so different on back vs front.

3.08 gears? Every AOD truck I've driven shifted around 45, but they've all be 4x4/3.55 gear trucks.
If it's got the 9" 2.75's were an option. I tend to focus on the 83-86 stuff and they started putting the 8.8's in them in 83. I've only seen one post 83 with a factory 9", but from what I understand they can have them. Ford basically just used up what they had lying around.
The only common 8.8 ratio's that I'm aware of is 3.08 and 3.55, although they did offer others including 4.10's. I've seen pictures of a 4.10 door tag but never have seen them in person.
Anyway... Nice truck and good luck with it. The 302/AOD in my 86 works just fine. My cousin is using it now and he's a bit heavy footed but I used to get 14mpg mostly around town. At 50-55 on the highway I got almost 20. He was getting 11-12 and now it's sprouted a plow on the front so its gone down further than that. I also spent less than $2500 over 6 years with that truck - including purchase. That's not even a down payment on a new truck.
