hey new guy here , recently was told I could have a 1972 f100 2wd long bed w a 302 if I could get it running. Got it running but gas tank is toast from sitting up So long. Its in pretty rough shape missing one side of trim completely and bed rusted through but other than that very little surface rust anywhere else has 89k miles that hasn't been rolled over. I plan on restoring the truck. That's just a little info on me looks like a good forum pics soo to come

Welcome to FTE Wish I could get a free truck if I could get it running. My buddies are all tightwads and want scrap price at the least haha. Sounds like it has some rust issues. But curious what hidden rust is lurking on that truck. How did the cab mounts, floor pans look? Also the radiator support usually hides rust issues to. Looking forward to seeing pics this forum can answer any question you have about your new project. Good luck with it.

Everything but the bed and small holes on the doors seemed to be fine it was my girlfriend grandpa truck before he past away and has been sitting for a couple years the bed is rusted because of dirt/fertilizer being left in the bed for years while sitting . frame and all other components that I have checked seem to be fine with little surface rust if any! Thanks will hopefully get some pics up tomaroo. Also some surface rust under the hood but other that seems to be in ok ship for the year but deffently gonna take a lot of TLC to make it were I would like it'
