Welcome to FTE. Just a reminder to dispose of your used oil responsibly. Many parts places will take up to 5 gallons no charge.
Enjoy your ride!
Good reminder. Be aware those folks who do you a favor by taking your old oil are selling it on a ready market. I know that some places have trucks that will come around, pick up that used oil and pay up to $.50 per gallon. And then some places like TN have a used oil disposal fee added at the time you buy the oil. Go figure.

Large CAT engines (3500 series and Acert) have an option where the computer is programmed to pull a couple of gallons of crankcase oil and shoot it into the fuel system to burn. This is replaced with oil from a renewal tank. You change filters on a regular basis, but the oil change intervals are greatly increased, as it is renewed over time. You still have to manually add oil to replace what the engine uses.
Naturally, new EPA regulations are putting an end to this and there will be literally hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of gallons of additional used oil to deal with across the country.
