Headlight Bucket Differences

Does anyone know if 51-52 headlight buckets are the same as 48-50? There are a pair on Ebay I thought I might bid on if they will fit my 48. Is $20 a good price for a pair of used buckets?

My part number for the buckets is fsb 40 or fsb 400. If your number matches most likly it would work. $20 isn't bad. I have a spare set but I think I would get in trouble again for trying ship you some. Didn't tell the parents last time.

Hi Vern,

Best I can tell from the Parts and Accessories Catalog, the same headlight assembly was used from 48 through 55, except for the parcel delivery.

If it helps, the assembly number is B8J-13008-A according to the Catalog. That assembly number includes the rear "bucket" plus the headlamp rear receiver dish and the adjusting screws.

What are wrong with your original buckets? The part number is on the outer rim minus the headlight door and bulb retainer. If you have your buckets look at the part number. Earl probally is right being Earl. Ford and their part numbers.

Hi Vern,

My 1948 - 55 Ford Chassis Parts Manual shows two different part numbers for the Headlamp Assy. The 3/4 ton 48 - 50 is 8C13002-C and the 51 - 55 is 1C 13008-A. Only shows the picture for the 48-50, so I can't tell if there is a difference. Are you using new fenders?

Newt,

Don't even have fenders yet except for the fiberglass extensions I got from you. I just happen to see these on Ebay and they were listed as 51-52. My old ones are in pretty bad shape, so for 20 bucks I thought they might fit my old 48 F-3. The auction ended without a bid, so if they will fit, I might even be able to get them a few bucks cheaper. I going to use fiberglass fenders from Bebops eventually if that makes a difference...
