What size clutch do I have? ('59 223/3-speed)

It's time for a new clutch set on my '59 F100 with a 223 and 3-speed. All the parts houses list two sizes available, 10" and 11". It's my daily driver, so I can't pull the disc & pressure plate to measure before ordering the new stuff - anybody know how I can determine which size I need to order?

Many thanks in advance.

- Jay

VespaJay,
I don't have an answer for you on the clutch, but I did send you an E-mail via the FTE forum... if you wouldn't mind checking it out?

Thanks,
Daryl

There's an access cover at the bottom of the bellhousing. If you knew the outside diameter of the flywheel you could figure out the clutch size by measuring the distance between the outside diameter of the flywheel and the clutch disc or pressure plate.

I'd guess that the smaller clutch is the most common, but you never know what you'll find inside an old truck.

Hey Jay were you at Worcester over the weekend?

If your truck has the light duty 3 on the tree it is most likely the 10", the floor box often wound up with the 11".
