Has anyone used the predator carb with idle circuit? I have the offroad and competition use carb that has no idle circuit. The idle circuit carb couldn't possibly suck back as much gas as the one I got right?
I'm running the one without the idle circuit and I called Predator about that and they said the idle circuit is really for small block engines.
If your engine is in the 360CI+ range, then the idle circuit will not make a real difference.
The MPG on the predator is never going to be good. It's not designed for that, it's made to improve throttle response and torque and it does that very well.
I'm actually dealing with the same MPG problem right now and i'm going to put back the Holley for a while just to see what the difference is.
Don't forget that Predator offers different cams and spray bars, I've got 3 different cams and two different spray bars for mine.
I assume you know how to adjust these, but basically if it's adjusted properly, you should be able to bump the top plates open very quickly and see little/no change in the RPM of the engine.
You can also play with the adjustment screw and see if that helps to dial it in for the RPM range you use the most.
What kind of MPG are you getting? I'm in the 4-6 range with a heavily build 428.
