Ok I am getting close to doing this engine Weeeee
(Site not appropriate for FTE)
Anyways here is the big question what rod should i use.
I am trying to choose between the 11/32 rod and the 3/8 rod.
Now at first glance i would think 11/32 but I am going to use GOOD aftermrket rod bolts.Witch makes me think maybe i should go with a 3/8 rod with aftermarket bolts. With the tensile str of the new bolts nowadays they shouldt break. So what do you guys think?

Forgot to mention the engine combo is as follows.352 block to use the new in the box set of Forged 289/302 .030 pistons i have had laying out on the self for years.Funny how you get into BB and those old things become junk parts LOL .This is the best part I can use my 428CJ crank and still end up with 8.5 CR.I just have to pick the rods to bush and get this party started All this and still going to leave those 289 badges on the front fenders of the Fairlane.Chevy's taste like chicken
Spoke with a engine builder he said go for the small rod bolt, with my blower engine. The way he put it the larger bolt weakens the rod.Man I am getting excited about this 8-71 project. My foot may become addicted
You're builder's right, use the smaller 3/8" ARP. The 11/32" rod sounds good but that rod is actually weaker plus the stock bolts are crap. One time while I was at Ford Power Parts, Ron had a bunch of the factory 11/32" bolts and about 90% of them had to be scrapped. Go with the 3/8" rod and ARP bolts, that's the ticket!
