So the evil one has been giving me fits. It will randomly die...more often when hitting bumps. Like the ignition just stops sending a signal to fire the plugs.
I pull over, it fires right up and off I go. I've opened up all of my wiring and checked connections. Tested coil and dist output.
I'm running the A1 with a Accel distributor with stock harness adapter which does not provide a ground for the dist housing. I talked with a few mechanics and they don't seem to think the dist requires a ground. I tried a new ign switch last summer.
Bad thing is I'm kinda just waiting for it to be broken permanently so I can diagnose the problem. (which is pretty freakin aggravating)
I was thinking about yanking the MSD and shake it around while the truck is running.
Anyone have any weird issues with MSD ignition boxes ?

I had one for a whole 15 miles, than took a crap on me and wouldn't work. Brand new and hooked up everything perfectly and all of a sudden, poof it goes out and ever turns back on. Go back to the stock ignition set up and don't worry about a aftermarket ignition box unless your trucks got 600+ hp or you have need for a rev limiter. Just my 2 cents but after my little mishap with MSD it's game over for me
Mark did you ever find the problem ? Well if it does it again get ahold of me and I would be more than glad to come over and give you hand. I have alot experience with MSD systems problem solving issues and setting up the curve on them also. Setting up the curve isn't hard but finding where the issue is when it isn't working right is another story. I've had many weird issues with MSD's !!
