Airframer? The more eloquent term for yall is "hammersmith".

Sheel metal gives some thing for all those rivets to hold on while flying right?

Yup.. that's not the engine's buzz ya hear... that's the one million rivets rattling in their holes.

Some aircraft have an active corrosion control feature. They are designed to leak while sitting on the ramp to displace moisture... self lubricating!

Haha! I was a USAF crew chief for 15 years. Then I got my engineering degree and now I play with dirt. I enjoy wrenching recreationally, though.

Lol playing in dirt is the reward Another brother in arms. Thank you all for your service. Every branch plays a part in keeping American safe and free. How did y'all like being crew chief? I hear air crew goes through some pretty intense swim training. 1 mile full gear swim, 30 minute water treading, that simulated plane crash in water, etc..

Howdy GM brother! If you do not do something in aviation, you are now the anomaly of this thread lol jk but I'm highly surprised about the amount of military and aviation members here. And they are friendly with a pretty good sense of humor.

OH NO!

I own a '79 Ford F250 plow truck 4x4 (in my garage paint shop as we speak), 90 GMC 1500 4x4, 2014 GMC 3500HD diesel 4x4, '01 Audi A6 Twin turbo, 79 MGB conv. and a 2014 Montana 40' fifth wheel. What's it coming to. No brand name patriotism anymore! But I have to start downsizing my herd. Selling the MGB and the F250 (after I de-rust it and paint it). I'm also a former navy bubble head due to a six years sentence on a nuclear fast attack sub.

Of all these vehicles, though, I have enjoyed the Ford the most...plowing driveways for a tip or bottle of wine, pulling people out of snow berms, etc. Gonna miss it.

Just like flying...hours of boredom and moments of terror. I'd tell ya what we did, but then I'd have to shoot ya!

That's what I said when I got my first Ford. Somehow I now have 4 1/2 Fords and the GM's just kind of faded away.
