I agree that is an excessive delay...does the door close flush? They do have about a 2 or 3 second delay built in for when you open another door right away the step is not moving back and forth.
I think it's about 3 second...I can close the back and right away teach for the rear door without it moving...but if you hesitate...it starts to retract. Oh and did you know it has a safety built in? Try pushing down on the step as it is closing.

Thanks, I knew about the safety, works going down also... so it won't get torn up on a tall curb or whatever.
3 seconds is about what my passenger side is... and drivers side was.
