Thanks, that looks like a good clean upgrade. They have the air cleaner in stock and the elbow is now on order and most likely be at store Fri. How much difference does it make? Is it enough to feel? Thanks, Mike
With a stock setup, you won't see much difference. Opening up the intake and exhaust will contribute to your future upgrades. The engine will "inhale" and "exhale" much better. I did the 6637 mod first, then added a larger, better flowing exhaust system. That allowed the turbo to spool up faster. You could actually hear the turbo working better and "feel" the boost coming on while driving. My boost came on stronger around 2000 RPMs and above.

With the radio off and the windows up (or down, depending on speed), I can hear the turbo whistling when boosting. Uphill travel is especially noticeable.
Edit #1:
There may be some differences between the Idaho trucks and California trucks. I'm a Californian by birth and understand the different emission requirements between our states. IDK if that might be why you don't hear your turbo under boost, but you can definitely hear my turbo whistle when boosting.
Edit #2:
I have a Diamond Eye 3" (3.5" I don't remember) downpipe running to through the OEM catalytic converter and 4" exhaust running through their 4" muffler and tailpipe exiting behind the rear wheel.
I can feel my turbo spool up more than I can hear it,although,if radio off and smooth road with no road noise,I can hear it faintly. But, as long as I can feel the smooth surge come in, I don' worry[love that surge]. I want to tell you folks how much I appreciate the help you have been in advising me on my trans cooler issue. Thanks, Mike

It might be, but I have an open exhaust and have tried a few times to hear it. I can feel it so I guess it's all that matters, but every diesel I have owned has always made noise at the turbo, even while just idling. My Duramax was crazy loud..... Who knows?
Yeah, I don't know why that is, Byron. I am able to hear my turbo more since the intake and exhaust mods were completed. The surge feeling has always been there, but seems more pronounced after the mods.
