Battery Cable Grounds

Currently building new battery cables for my 93 with a 5.0. The original ground cable goes from the negative terminal to the frame with a kind of side clamp, and then to the block, it is just one continuous cable. I have not been able to find a side clamp like on the original cable so I will have to run multiple cables. So my question is should I go from the battery terminal straight to the block and then make another cable from the block to the frame? Or should I directly ground both the frame and block to the battery terminal? Any insight is appreciated.

Either way. Doesn't matter. To be a clean looking, I'd go from battery to the block then another cable to the frame.
As long as engine, chassis, and body have sufficient grounds, things will work as designed.

If you do not pull a trailer you do not have to ground the frame at all with a 1993 truck.
Just make sure you have a good engine block & body grounds.

True but nothing uses the frame for a ground except the trailers and something added after market.

Thanks for the replies guys. I do pull a trailer on occasion but did not know that was the only reason for the frame ground. It makes me feel better about not having a direct ground to the frame from the battery.
