Vent Window latch - Tip

Anybody ever see just the nylon tip part for sale? I have at least four decent chromed handles but all are missing the nylon tip part. Would like to just replace that part instead of the whole handle if possible.

No double nickle, bottle cap, match book suggestions needed. lol.

They should be available. New latches come with them, so they are still produced. May try to call LMC to see if I can just buy the tip.

If you can't find them maybe you can make them? I made one from a chunk of white coat hanger and some trimming with a knife. Any piece of plastic would work but the coat hanger was already broken and accessible. I glued my on with some 2 part epoxy so it won't fall off any more. This way I was also able to adjust the thickness to account for older seals that have shrunk/deformed.

No dice with LMC. Tried Dennis Carpenter and they get the whole latch assembly from China so can't sell just the nylon part. Also tried FlashbackF100's on a suggestion from DC but nothing there either. May have to see about whittling a couple. Or pony up the $30 plus shipping.

Pa F250 PM sent....I'll hook you up. I have a used set of vent wing handles, all your for the shipping.

I will see if just the tip will pop out, lol no sick jokes ok? This is serious truck repair we are discussing. lol

Ok so here I am at 11:15 in dark parts lot trying to pry off a tip....it snapped right off. But the catch is there is a hole in the metal part and a plastic pin goes in that to hold the rest on and it will snap right off.

So if you want a set of wing handles with tips and remove them yourself, I'll still send you a set.

Vent Window Handle - Tip

Ford did not supply the "nylon tip" by itself. It was only furnished with the vent window handle.

The handles are right and left specific and there are TWO different types of chrome handles. 1979's came with black handles.

C8OZ-5422916-B Right & C8OZ-5422917-B Left .. Chrome Vent Window Handles / Obsolete

1973/76 F100/750 / 1977 F100/750 before serial number Y00,001 // 1968/77 Bronco // 1968 Mustang/Cougar / 1968/69 Falcon/Fairlane/Torino 4 door sedan & station wagon.

C8UZ-8922816-A Right & C8UZ-8922917-A Left .. Chrome Vent Window Handles / Obsolete

1977 F100/350 from serial number Y00,001 / 1978 F100/350 & Bronco // 1969/78 Econoline.

Thanks for the replies. From what I can tell, 73-77 had the chrome ones w/o locking pins, 78 had chrome with locking pins, and 79 had black with locking pins. I would assume they are interchangeable (fit the same post).

Ya, I had one with a decent tip on it but the chrome wasn't looking so hot. I tried to get a knife under it to pop it off but it broke. That's why I was hoping someone sold replacement tips.
