76 stock rims should be 5 on 5 on 5 1/2. That is a reference to the 5 lug and 5 1/2 hub size or lug nut spacing. But not the rim width, as far as I know....
What I need to know is what the width of the rim is. All F100/F150s up to 96 had 5x5.5 lug pattern, with the exception of a few oddball Bullnoses that had a 5x4.5 pattern.
At some point the rim width went from 5.5 to 6 to 7 inches.
I can jack the truck up out of the mud, pull a wheel and look for myself, but I thought someone here might know and save me the trouble.

*It all has to do with how the general public measures the width of wheels vs how FoMoCo does it.
FoMoCo measures wheels across from the inside flanges, not across from the outer lips.
The Styled Steel & Aluminum wheels introduced in 1977 F100/150's & 1978 Bronco's are wider than the painted steel wheels.
