I personally don't guess (much) -- we have a gravel quarry nearby that will weigh us 6 ways to Sunday. I try to stay under the 7k rating of the rear axle and make sure the tires support that...
I'm lost on that answer lol but it doesn't take much to get me lost. Are you talking about weight in bed?

Sorry, Wife had dinner out and I had to rush... Towing a 9, 10K or whatever trailer isn't an issue if you are ok for what weight hits the ground on the truck's 4 tires.
I'm betting you'll be fine, but you'd be surprised how many guys will throw big ol' C rated meats on the truck and think it's good-to-go... 10 ply tires are E rated, though I've had problems with mis-match of wheel/tire combo.
I a you should put on a spare tire for that bulged one until you have bought your tires, a blow out sucks big time. Yes, you should be running an e rated 10 ply tire on these trucks, the lower rated tires just don't stand up and the experiences I have had towing with D tires not worth the savings.
We pay a bit more for tires up here, I went with good year Duratracs this time, warranty, mud and snow rating, nice solid tire for a bit of off roading I do. Handles weight well. They are a bit noisy butt I have gotten used to it. I have Had them on since fall, they haven't really worn, about 7500 Kms on them so far. Maybe 1/32 if that, I have already rotated once.
If you go BFG, rotate often, religiously, or you loose longevity. I like them toyo's, they look sturdy and on a friend or two's diesel dodges they have worn well.....
I'm running the Nitto Terra Grapplers with 45k on them, I still have about 35% tread left. They have lasted great and they ride great. I had one flat a couple years ago on the rear and couldn't hardly tell with no weight in the bed, it was just a little loose in corners.
Truthfully, I want an E rated tire so either I drop down to the 295/75-18 in the Terras, or I stick with the 35s and move over to the Trails. My next option would be the Toyo AT2.
I used to run BFGs but their quality started going downhill a few years back.
I am happy with my toyo mts. 285/75/r16. Higher e load rated tire than the factory bfg tires. Better look but they arnt cheap. Tire wear is suppost to be good on them as well. Discount will match just about anyones price so if you see a legitimate price ask them to match it. Mount and balance is where they typically get you vs a online deal that cant mount and balance
