I've got an 86 Ford 250 with an older Tekonsha hydraulic brake controller (unknown model number). While removing a couple of the previous owner's switches/modifications, I accidentally unhooked/cut a couple of the brake controller's wires. I've searched for a wiring diagram online, but can't find one for a hydraulic model.
I know that the blue wire goes to the rear of the truck for the trailer plug, but not sure where the black, red, or green wire are supposed to go. I'm guessing that the red wire goes to cold side of the brake switch, and the black wire goes to the battery.....BUT what about the GREEN wire?
BTW: I did read online that the hydraulic model is grounded through the steel brake line. Dunno if that's right or not.
The only thing I would know to do is open it up and look at where the wires go. You could also hook it up with a battery charger, since it has a circuit breaker built in it, and use a test light to figure the wiring and verify it after you have taken it apart.
