Fuel tank cleaning

Was wondering if there is a great way to clean out a fuel tank that has been sitting for 20 years or should I just buy a new one. Any Ideas?

As I just mentioned in another thread, mine sat for 18 years almost full, & would have been close to $300 to repair. LMC new tank is $200. Cant recommend thier fuel sender though.

I saw that LMC had them and I considered buying a new one. Did you find a better sending unit else where?

Thanks, I will have to check around and see. I remember it would leak fuel when it was filled all the way, I am sure it is just a gasket leaking back then.

Yes, but I went a different direction:

There was a different thread where Numberdummy found a few NOS units.
