broken tilt steering wheel column
I have a 1987 ford F150 pickup truck. The tilt steeribg wheel colum has broken, causing the steering wheel to move up and down freely. I need a diagram on how to remove column, and replace the broken pin that holds the steering wheel in place.

It's probably not the pin that broke - probably either the "claw" or its spring. I've never found a good diagram of that mechanism, but this one is a start. Once you get into it, you'll figure it out. You need a couple of hard screws to extract the tilt pins, like pulling a cork.
You can usually find a decent used steering column for $70-120, and it's pretty easy to swap it, especially compared to working on the tilt mechanism.
