ABS Hudraulic Control Unit

Ok guys I need some help finding this part number, or an aftermarket part, or even a rebuild kit for it.

Ford Part #3C3Z2C386-AA

Shop diagnosed a bad ABS Hydraulic Control Unit on my Ex. Said it is a discontinued part and that one dealer in the country reported having one. Said it would cost $1400 to have him do the job and suggested I try to find an alternative solution.

Have not yet been able to call any parts yards, but will be doing so tomorrow.

RockAuto: Nothing

Ebay Motors: Nothing

Amazon: Nothing

General Google Search: NOTHING!! WHAAT?

Looks like I need some help from the mighty FTE community.

Are you speaking of the ABS control valve?

That may be another name for it. This is not the electronic part of the system. I need the actual valve assembly. All of the paperwork I have says Hydraulic Control Unit.

I would try to get a guaranteed one from a salvage yard and use a quart of fluid to flush the entire system. Did the original one go bad from old fluid?

Shop did not say why the original has gone south. I will have to see what's up from parts yards this week.

Bypass the unit, pull the bulb out of the cluster, and have normal brakes?

Just throwing it out there.

Not something I am willing to entertain at this point, even if I knew how to do so.

Something like that I would suggest getting from a junk yard. You're not going to find a new factory part for much less than $1,000, and they're commonly available at junk yards. Most of the yards around here come with a 6-month warranty.

Here's what I got from a quick search on Car-Part.com

I understand and just wanted to give the option.

For future reference to bypass the unit you just need to pull the brake lines from the wheels out of the ABS unit and run them strait to the master. Yeah I hate ABS.

Good luck with the search!

Tom, thanks for the new resource! Never seen that site before. Found a part from a local place in those price ranges, but only a 30 day warranty.

Part ordered, will be in on Thrusday.

Christina, thank you as well for looking for me. Those parts are not quite the same part number as what I was told I need. Also, my truck info is in my sig :P

Snowseeker, I still think you are nuts for pulling without ABS, brother, haha!

By the way, I cannot rep any of you guys right now, sorry.

FYI, the part # you have posted is not the correct one. The good thing is you found one.
