Okay so here is my problem my truck when it gets to operating temp the fuel pump stops pumping fuel or I should say it pumps it but very very little like the filter almost gets empty I recently changed the pump thinking it was that it...nope still my problem. I'm not quite what it could be also, when you loosen the clamp on the line there is a lot of pressure that builds up in the line I'm not sure what it could be I recently changed the jets on the carburetor but i wouldn't think that would be a problem to cause this.
No the truck runs like if there was fuel going to carb but I'm not sure if it fills up when I drive it but I had just gotten home parked in the garage and opened the hood and barely any gas was in the filter so i was like "WTF i thought i fixed this issue"
Time to start over. The idea of the pump not pumping fuel is not a problem statement. That's what you suspect is the cause of a problem which you have yet to state. So, I ask, what's the actual problem? What do you expect the truck to do, and what does it actually do? Is it stalling at highway speeds? Won't idle? What's actually happening? Don't go by what's in the fuel filter. Clear fuel filters just cause confusion, if anything.
Also, next time you reply, please kindly use punctuation. If your next post takes six tries to understand, I'm not going to read it. I suspect that's why there has only been one other individual that has been patient enough to respond to this thread.
Well it doesn't stall or anything like that. Once the truck is at operating temperature is almost seems like it pump doesnt pump fuel into the filter you unclamp the line as soon as the line relieves the pressure the fuel goes right away in the filter. FTF and 86fordf150six on the fordsix forum stated that it could be a pickup sock in the tank.
I've never seen one of those see-through filters get completely full, they always seem to have a bubble of air in them. If the truck's running okay I wouldn't sweat it.

Yeah that's what I'm use to as well the air bubble but this one gets way to low for my liking. I have a photo I'll post it up here in a few.
If the filter is vertical, it might get full of fuel. But horizontal, it will never fill up completely.
Honestly, if the truck is running fine, and not giving you any problems, then don't worry about it.
I've never seen one of those clear filters stay full of fuel.

So what you're saying is there isn't actually a problem - you just have a concern as to why the clear filter is not completely full. That's what you should have said in the first place - not "the pump is not pumping enough fuel" - that sends folks down a completely different troubleshooting path, when in fact there isn't anything to actually troubleshoot.
Just like everyone says, a clear filter is not going to get completely full. "Problem" solved.

"Your liking" is not a quantitative specification in a shop manual. The carburetor will only demand what fuel it needs to maintain a constant fuel level in the bowl as dictated by the float.
Okay I'm sorry I wasted anyone's time. I "guess" I never had a "problem" to begin with. Thanks to the people that tried to help my solve my "problem" 😎☺
