. Since its out of a 99 it does have disk brakes so I know I will need to change my master cylinder out to support it but after a good deal on the axle I cant complain. The guy who was watching my truck totally smoked the stock open diffs some how. It was working fine before I left but now you can put the truck in 2wd and 1st gear and the rear drive shaft will just spin
. I am assuming that the pinion gear probably has no teeth left on it. The jerk said he smelled something burning but for what ever reason kept driving. Then the truck locked the rear tires up and skidded to a stop. He also claims the rear end was smoking when this happened
.Any way I just wanted to share the find and get some advice on what to do next. Since this is only a winter truck I don't know if its worth pulling the ford true track and replacing the clutches it along with the wheel bearings and axle seals or if I should throw it in and forget about it.
