Diesel Leak

Hey guys, I have had a diesel leak for quite some time, and have just recently identified where it is coming from, but need to know what it is.

Any info would be of great value to me to know what this part is, and why it might be leaking, and of course lastly the best way to resolve the issue. As I just put a new SouthBend clutch in and don't want diesel dripping down into the bell housing and getting onto my new very expensive clutch.

So as you can see from the picture below it is on the right side of the fuel bowl, the part that is leaking is circled in green and then the 7 dots indicate where it is leaking from. It is a pretty stead stream of diesel that is coming out when the truck is running.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Sam

Thanks for the reply Mike, so am I safe to assume that I can just remove that and replace it with another solid plug?

That is the water in fuel sensor. Try sticking a wrench on it and tightening it a bit. OOr you can remove and plug it...

Or you can take it out put Teflon tape on the threads and reinstall it to give it a better seal

Whatever you decide to do,
Be very careful not to over toghten that. The fpr is pot metal, and will split at those threads if overtightened. Ummm, dont ask me how I know this. lol

That is the fuel filter restriction sensor, not WIF. It can be removed and a pipe plug used as stated. Myself I like to have the sensor in there to help see what is going on with the fuel system.
