how many O2 sensors are supposed to be on a 1994 F150 4.9L 300 Manual? I just bought the truck with 211k miles (its running fine), but it was suggested that if I didn't know the age of the O2 sensor I should replace it (them?)
also, how hard are they to replace? I'm fairly mechanical.
one last thing: any more suggestions on what I might check/replace having just bought it? it's my first truck, so I'm not sure what to expect. like i mentioned, its running fine, but maybe there are some preventative things to make it the more reliable for road trips.

Pretty easy.. though if your truck has an original sensor in it you will have to work at breaking it lose. One suggestion would be to run the motor from cold for 5 minute or just long enough to get a little heat in the exhaust so that it expands a little bit and makes the sensor a little easier to get out.

I typically change all the fluids when acquiring a new to me truck, change the oil and install new filters(oil, air, fuel) and check the codes and also check fuel pressure to see if it's within spec.
