Triton Engines

Did Ford ever solve the head gasket problems the early 4.6 and 5.4 engines were having ? There seems to have been so many I think a recall should have been issued.

Head gasket issues rarely comes up around here compared to the more common usual stuff.... misfires, vacuum leaks, EGR issues, etc.

Won't run under 2500 rpms!!

Hey all,
Just recently picked up a 2000 Ford F150 Triton for $400. The price was right so I figured what the heck! Anyway the previous owner got tired of dealing with it so he sold the truck to me. At first after reading this forum I thought the IAC and vacuum lines could be the problem. Not it at all. The only sensor that has not been replaced is the crank sensor and I believe 1 o2 sensor. Is there any others I could be missing?? The truck ran great one day and then started this problem the next. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks!!

JW, since this is your first post, your forgiven but start your own thread on your issue.
Barging in on an unrelated thread is not productive.
Please give enough detail to have a reasonable chance of getting a direction to go in, to help you.
You really did not give much except for wholesale parts replacement which is not the way to do it as your finding out.

JW, There are 2 sensors under the fuel-air intake above the valley cover. A heat and anti-knock sensor, If I remember right what my mechanic told me. A mouse ate up the wiring all the way to the sensors.
