That is a decent looking truck. Someone should do something with it.
It's real close to you, isn't it?!

52 Barn find Truck

I don't know if it is a "Barn Find" or not but it sure looks like one!

Bought the truck but it does not have a title. Haven't figured out if I want to try for a replacement title or not. Probably go get it next week and see what I have bought.

The bad news is my wife likes it so I don't know if it will be a builder or a salvage truck!

The cow catcher probably kept the fenders, grill & hood protected over the years as they don't look like they have a scratch on them.

Way to go Bill !!!

I wish you lived closer. It looks like you got a good one. Now you will have something to haul your 8Ns around. I assume that you are not going to paint it John Deere green?

Hell no on the green!
I'm a Mahindra tractor dealer which is red so I really don't go for green much.

I think I will get it running and driving then decide what to do with it.
We are real familiar with the old Ford tractors and shouldn't have any problem making it run since they are all about the same thing with lots of the same parts.

Got the Truck and it turned out to be an F-6 with a (4) transmission serial # F6R2DL11291.
Will try to get it running this weekend and see what we have.

Thats great Bill. Glad you rescued it.

So based upon than number it originally was built as an F6 with a 239 V8 engine built in the Dallas plant.

Send us some more pictures as your work progresses.

P.S. I came across this quote the other day:

“Friends don't let friends drive red tractors.” - John Deere

That's a great chart. What website is that? Much easier than reading the Shop Manual...

I'm not sure. Somebody on here (maybe Ross?) replied with this when I was asking the same questions a few years ago. I liked it so I saved it.

It has a 4 transmission which would be the spur type but it does have a 2-speed rear axle.
Great chart!

No, if it's a '52 F-6, see the chart in post #13, it would be a synchro 4-sp.

On the glove box it shows the trans type as 4.
If it is a synchro. I bet it would show 4 SYN but possibly not.

Looking at the manual it looks like the 4 SYN came in the 6 cyl. and with the larger V8 but I didn't study it too much.

Saturday 17 and trying to get the F-6 running.
Best as I can tell it was last running in 1962 or 22 years ago.
been soaking plugs for 24 hours but some still stuck.
Soaking some more and will try a little heat to loosen them.
Only broken one so far.
Hate to pull the heads unless I have to.
