I usually live on the 48-60 forum but hope to spend time here soon. Anyway, I am about to give up trying to find a Bronco locally, and am going to pursue one of several on ebay and have it shipped to Iowa. Are the Kelley Blue Book valuations close to reality? I am currently looking at a couple 94s, XLT 351W with 85,000 miles or there abouts. Values are listed at around $9,000 retail KBB. That sound right? They are not bringing bids anywhere near that and reserve prices are not being met. Basically no sale auctions. It would seem to me they would draw bids higher than $4500 if they in fact bring $9000 on a car lot. Just thought I would check in with the experts before I pay way too much and have it shipped on top of that.
Time to check out your galleries. Really getting Bronco fever now. Spent the last 5 years lowering my 53 F100. Now I suppose you guys are going to tell me high is cool.
Hey Fenders,
I'm fairly new to this board and I'm sure you'll get alot of info from the more experienced members.Welcome.I think the pricing you got sounds close. To many factors involved though to really tell
what a particular Bronc.would go for.I bought my '91XLT,71k,5.8L,
351W,E40D in '99 for 10k.It was very clean and well maintained and the history was good.I know of half a dozen or so in my neck of the woods that are less costly, but I'm not familiar with their condition or history.Try getting some vin #s and run the history.I forget the site for that.Carfax? My gallery is open.Good luck!
I think sites like Carfax give you a high and low end retail value.
Depending on condition, usage, features etc. Some trucks cost more
or less depending on the area.Yeah,I agree 9k is high.
The dealers don't use the KBB - they use the black book, which is based on the auctions in their region and is updated every quarter with the most current average auction prices. I have an old one for the Memphis area somewhere...
