Welcome to the forum, young Jones. Shown are middle seats from a late '80s, early '90s GM van. They slide fore and aft, the backs tilt and lock in different positions, the backs swing fully forward, they have arm rests both sides and have head rests. The passenger seat has a dual fold down cup holder that fits between the seats. I made the frames with slight seat adjustments possible. I mounted the passenger seat close to the door as possible and centered the driver seat behind the steering wheel.
IMO, these seats are nicely proportional to the size of the cab. I've driven the truck a couple hundred miles and they are comfortable.
These seats are plentiful and reasonable.
Those are some nice looking seats! Is that a bench, or two buckets? Is that in your 49, or your 56? I think the cab widths are different, aren't they?
Are the seats from a full size GM van?
Sorry for all the questions, but you know how searching for suitable donors is.
I've already been stopped by the police for peeking in car windows in the parking lot!
Thanks.
I currently have a Ford ranger bench seat in my '49. But since I couldn't find a stock bench, I picked up a pair of bucket seat out off a 99 Tahoe for mine since I couldn't find a stock bench...
This F1 is a guy I bought parts from. His seats are out of a '02 Tahoe
Great thread guys! I'm in the market for a new set of seats too.
My 56 has what looks like a middle bench seat from a minivan or something - not bad looking - but not at all comfortable.
Plus when I pulled up the carpet to find a mounting point for seat belts I found the frame the seat is mounted to is just a couple 2x4's with nails holding it together.
Sooooo - Im looking for a set of nice low back buckets I can use - but I really like the integrated seat belts. I need to wander through the junk yard with a tape measure for a couple hours.
