bedrail damage from cross boxes

bedrail damage from cross boxes

Anybody hear of problem with bedrails cracking / splitting from weight of cross box type tool box? thanks

I had the front of the bed split from the sides with a cross box. Then I replaced that with side boxes and ladder racks and the front panel is totally separated from the sides. Now it squeaks constantly.

Previous F250 (2001) with cross box and side boxes and never had problem. plenty of weight, probably more than recommended. Just bought new 2014 and repair shop we use mentioned problems with newer versions splitting down the rail into the fender. Planned to do the same with new truck - now concerned!?!?
