I thought you had helped me out when I did mine....you can work the gm alt with 1 wire but....you have to rev the engine up after cranking to around 1200 rpm to get it to start charging. Thats how mine was set up and my alt light stayed on all the time. I have (3) wires hooked to mine....1 wire is from the wiring that went to the stock voltage reg, the other 2 wires go to the hot side of the solenoid. If interested I can take pictures of mine and send you the link.

With the battery isolator in line, the kit may be a waste of money on my end. I did pull the wiring from the alt over to the battery.

3G is an awesome upgrade for these trucks. Not sure why u would need to buy a wiring kit from anyone? It is very simple. If you want NEW stuff it is all available on ebay as well. DBelectrical has new alternators at good prices.
