When mine 'locked' up, it was working fine up to that point.
I suspect it had a catastrophic mechanical failure that was (luckily) NOT on the pressurized side of things...
Nevertheless, all the pump rebuilder/reman people will not warrent their pumps if you don't flush and replace orifice tube/filters & filter driers
Very true,, cash n carry parts are not lifetime. They are lifetime if we install them. That's a bummer for a DIY repair,, but I understand their reasoning. Ac is very regularly "UNDER repaired".
Actually I bought my "stuff' at Autozone and they offered a 2yr warranty. But If one buys a pump and doesn't get a flush-kit filters etc, they'll deny it if you return the pump for replacement.
